Who hasn’t already eaten Toblerone chocolate in the famous yellow and red triangular carton with the Matterhorn? Well, that packaging is about to change.

Owned by American multinational Mondelez International, Toblerone no longer has the right to use its famous logo as it shifts part of its chocolate production outside of Switzerland.

Mandelez revealed last year that it plans to produce some chocolate in Bratislava, Slovakia.

According to a Swiss newspaper Argauer ZeitungThe company modifies the design of the mountain without violating the law of Swissness.

Toblerone’s packaging now features an image of a more simple, geometric and triangular mountain than the famous Matterhorn. Argauer Zeitung.

Toblerone’s packaging now says “Founded in Switzerland” instead of “From Switzerland”.

According to the Swissness Act passed in 2017, country emblems and Swiss crosses are not allowed on the packaging of products that do not meet Swissness standards.
