To assemble the walkway and install it, there is a brief window of opportunity for the teams in place; Winds should not exceed 25 km per hour. Due to strong winds, work on Saturday had to be canceled.

It was authorized to start the operation at 4 a.m. Sunday and the whole affair began at 5 p.m.

The 125,000-pound (over 56,000 kg) catwalk is set up on the 26th floor, which is more than 100 meters high in the recreation district.

“We are talking about a 58-storey tower and another 61-storey tower. It’s like a gem. These are the two sign towers in Montreal. This will change the “skyline” for the future. We’re really proud to have such a high catwalk on the 26th floor. This is unique, “said Marco Fontaine, Vice President of Marketing Development and Sales at Devimco.

“This is the first structure in North America between two towers 100 meters high in the air above a residential tower. We’ve been talking about this for four years. We’ve been working on it for two years, and then we were able to do it today, ”explained Matthew LeBlanc, director of construction at Edifice.

If construction begins this Sunday, there will still be at least six months to fix the glass curtain.
