The top brass of the Denver Broncos is dealing with positive COVID-19 tests.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reports that GM John Elway and CEO Joe Ellis tested positive for the coronavirus novel.

The Broncos are confident that broadcasts have emerged from outside the building, Rapoport said. When the trade deadline reached ET at 4pm on Tuesday, Elway and Ellis were away from the team facility.

“Broncos President & CEO Joe Ellis and Football Operations President / General Manager John Elway were informed this morning that they had tested positive for COVID-19,” the team said in a statement. “Although he did not feel 100 percent on Sunday morning, Joe immediately reported his symptoms to our medical team and saw the Sunday game at home as a precaution. He was still working from home on Monday before getting a positive test result this morning.

“After experiencing minor symptoms brought to our attention by our medical staff, John left the Uchelt training center immediately on Monday morning. Apart from the mild symptoms, Joe and John are both well. They continue to work alone from home and attend virtual meetings while their health is being monitored.

“Based on a review of contact tracing data with the league, we believe these cases have arisen independently outside of team facilities. Everyone has been identified with minimal contacts (no players or coaches), and those individuals have been notified. The day is remotely precautionary. Our organization communicates with the NFL, consults with the league and makes all decisions based on the guidance of medical professionals. “

This is the latest issue of COVID-19, which was resolved by the Broncos last week. Defensive coordinator Ed Donatelle tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend and was not coached for winning over the Chargers on Sunday. Denver Guard Graham Glasgow tested positive last week. Offensive line coach Mike Munchak is also on the COVID-19 protocol.

Like the rest of the NFL, the Broncos facility is closed to players on election day. If there are no positive tests yet, Denver should expect to resume its normal routine on Wednesday.
