Kevin Spacey denies sexual harassment allegations against him

(New York) Actor Kevin Spacey on Monday denied sexual harassment allegations made by actor Anthony Rapp and is currently facing a civil trial in New York.

Posted yesterday at 8:40 pm.

“I have no recollection of being at a private party with him or being in an apartment with him,” as the plaintiff stated, as he answered his attorney’s questions.

Double Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey, born in the United States, disappeared from screens and boards after becoming one of the first artists swept by the #metoo global wave in October 2017.

American actor Anthony Rapp, 51, notably starred in the series as of late October Star Trek: DiscoveryComplained in September 2020 of advances and sexual harassment at a party in New York in 1986, when he was just 14 years old.

Anthony Rapp claims in his complaint that Kevin Spacey invited him to his Manhattan apartment, where he picked him up in his arms, placed him on the bed and groped him while he watched TV.

During Monday’s cross-examination, Kevin Spacey described his father as a “white supremacist” and a “neo-Nazi” — something he had never said publicly before — that he disliked gay people and disliked his interest in theater.

Spacey said he was “shocked, horrified and confused” after the 2017 allegations, published by Anthony Rapp in a BuzzFeed News article, and issued a public apology at the recommendation of his agents, which he said today he regrets.

“I learned the lesson, never apologize for something you didn’t do,” he said.

He also said that if he did come out with his homosexuality, he would have been thinking about it for more than a year in light of his well-established acting career.

“I’ve been accused of trying to change the subject, try to distract or be accused of being homophobic, which is not my intention,” he said, declaring through tears that he would “never do anything that hurts the gay community.”

In addition to this lawsuit, Kevin Spacey has had other run-ins with the law in the United States and the United Kingdom. In London, he is on trial for sexually assaulting three men between March 2005 and April 2013 when he was a theater director, and pleaded not guilty last July.
