Beachclub owner Olivier Primeau ended his plan to open Slice Gang Pizza pizzeria franchises across Quebec last summer after several shootings. The company will work out the final details with the bankruptcy trustee.
“The project is affected. It didn’t really attract franchisees anymore, so we closed the company. At present we are managing with the creditors” he explained Newspaper Oliver Primeau, Tuesday.
Last May, a man was arrested in Saint-Thérèse when the Slice gang set fire to a pizzeria, the second time they had been targeted in less than 24 hours.
“We were negotiating for commercial leases to open some, but as events unfolded, I took a step back,” he continued.
“As in many adventures in my life I have lost money, but one lost, 25 found,” says the optimistic entrepreneur.
Anglo name
Two years ago, News magazine reported the debate provoked by naming its pizzerias Anglo.
“It’s a simple excuse from the defenders of the French language: ‘Change the name of your restaurants,'” he denounced.
