Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that the mass killings in the US influenced his decision to return to live in the UK.
In an interview with The ObserverAppendix of the guardianPublished on Sunday, the Black Sabbath rocker revealed his intention to return to his homeland after living in North America for more than 25 years.
He and his wife Sharon Osbourne explained in 2019 that the decision had nothing to do with the health of the singer, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
“I know people think that,” Sharon Osbourne said. This is not so. It’s just time. America has changed a lot. It is not entirely the United States of America. There was nothing United about it. It’s a very strange place to live right now.”
The singer also clarified what motivated him to move.
“Everything there is ridiculous. I am sick of people being killed every day. God knows how many people were shot in school shootings. And this mass shooting in Vegas at this concert… it’s crazy,” the 73-year-old singer continued, referring to the gunman who killed 60 people and injured more than 4,000 at a country music festival in Los. Vegas in 2017.
“And I don’t want to die in America,” he added. I don’t want to be buried on this fucking forest lawn,” referring to the California cemetery where many celebrities are buried.
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne are due to return home in February 2023.
