Party Cubacois: Buruba resigns as parliamentary leader

The party’s Cubacois parliamentary leader, Pascal Burube, will step down in the summer. The party made the announcement late Wednesday.

The Matane-Matapedia member held these positions since the party’s election defeat in 2018 and the departure of Jean-Franకోois Lizzie.

“Being the parliamentary leader of a political party is particularly in demand from a personal and professional point of view. After almost three years in this position, I want to pass the torch so that I can dedicate myself to my files and above all my constituency,” he said in a press release.

The PQ member kept files that were representative of political training, including the French language, municipal affairs, secularism, the metropolis, and especially the reform of democratic institutions.

“For the French, the struggles he waged for secularism and independence, the parliamentary section of the party Cubacois will help the National Assembly to be more consistent and more relevant than ever before,” party leader Paul St. Pierre underlined Plamondon.

PQ will announce its replacement in the summer.
