Quebec agrees with general practitioners

The CAQ government has entered into an agreement with its general practitioners to move forward with its project to implement Front-Line Health Access Counter (GAP).

The project, set up under Minister Christian Dube’s plan to fix the health system, hopes to improve access to the hundreds of thousands of citizens who do not have a Quebec family doctor.

The expansion of GAP is pending, with those on the family physician access window list being “regularly enrolled in the family medicine group, giving priority to the most vulnerable patients,” the ministry said.

According to the agreement, people who have one can access it within a maximum of 36 to 72 hours.
