The Coalition of Community Organizations (CTROC), established in 16 administrative regions of the province, wants to remind the Quebec government of the importance of these organizations.

“For a long time, companies were sanctioned by the Quebec government. Due to the pandemic and the shortage of manpower, the underfunding that affects them has increased, dramatically reducing their ability to meet the urgent needs of the population, ”said Co-CTROC spokeswoman Claudelle Cyre in a press release.

“It is time for the government to take the situation seriously and increase funding for the mission of all groups,” she added.

His colleague Benoit Larrock confirmed for his part that companies are “on the brink of the abyss.”

“What will happen to these valuable places for mutual assistance and empowerment of the citizens of our region? It is imperative to give them better support to promote local democracy and not to forget their great contribution to the social and economic power of many areas, which will make our towns and villages more united, ”Mr LaRock said.
