The best poutine is at Yamachiche, in Marseille.
At least that’s what TikTokeur decided in a video posted on June 24. The latter travel the province for the best poutines.
Since then, curious people from all over Quebec and other parts of the country have flocked to Les Couleurs de la Terre Farm to taste the dish that earned it a score of 10 out of 10.
What makes this poutine such a hit? Potato, according to the co-owner.
“In our humble opinion, the potato is often a little neglected in poutine, so we’re going to use the really deep-fried variety. A fry should be golden and as crispy as possible without soaking up the oil, so we don’t want soft and greasy fries,” Patricia Claveau told TVA Novelles.
While the farm usually sees 200-300 people per day, from Thursday to Sunday, the number of visitors has increased to 2,000 users per day since @niko.atsaidis posted.
The company had to adjust its cheese order to meet the demand.
The entire family also pitched in to meet the shortage of staff.
“Typically, one person has time to do multiple tasks, where, each person is doing one thing, whether it’s washing dishes, peeling potatoes, chopping potatoes or making poutines or serving poutines,” explained Guy Fredette, co-owner of the farm.
Nearly two weeks after TikTok’s publication, poutine lovers were still on Thursday to find the “best poutine.”
