The Saint-Jerome Rapid Hospitalization Complex opens its doors

The Saint-Jerome Rapid Hospitalization Complex opens its doors

After several months of construction, Saint-Jerome Hospital can finally count on its rapid hospitalization complex (CHR), which welcomed first patients on Sunday.

The new unit will be launched in mid-September 2020 to add beds to vacate intensive care facilities in a hospital in need due to the Kovid-19 pandemic.

Fifty-seven rooms were added to the establishment. The complex, which is connected to the main building by a foot bridge, will also accommodate surgical patients and will have two rooms allotted to clients in bariatric surgery.

“With the rapid hospitalization complex in Saint-Eustace, which was delivered a few weeks ago, this project is proving to be very innovative in terms of its scale and speed,” Health and Social Services Minister Christian Dube said in a statement.

This investment of 19 million is only the first step towards the complete modernization of Saint-Jerome Hospital, it was suggested.

“Of course, this new complex is timely to help our regional hospital meet its current challenges, some of which are related to the pandemic, but there are also access issues that we already face,” said Yuri Chasin, MP for Saint-Jerome. .
