Tyrone Lou: Poet Leonard, Paul George ‘Adjust to my system and my program’

Tyrone Lou: Poet Leonard, Paul George 'Adjust to my system and my program'

Tyrone Loo took advantage of Paul George and poet Leonard to prioritize his expectations and leadership for the upcoming Los Angeles Clippers season at his introductory press conference.

Lou challenged George and Leonard to show that they are the best two-way players in the league.

“[Leonard and George] I’m going to adjust to my system and my program. But I also have to be able to adjust to their comfort zone and make them feel better.

“Also set the tone to be the two best two-way players in the league. I think it’s a defensive start with those two guys on the defensive end,” Lou said, emphasizing keeping both of them healthy.

Lou blamed the Clippers’ lack of chemistry on the fact that George, Paul and Patrick Beverly missed games last season due to injuries.

Lou said leadership is a collective responsibility between himself and the team veterans.

“A lot of leadership has to come from me, from poet, PG, Lou and Pat Beverly. It has to be collective.

“I had to show them different ways of leadership and they had to show me different ways of leadership. I do not know everything. They do not know everything. … The big thing about leadership is just communication.”
