3D, augmented reality and video games. These are the new tools that Ford will use to develop, design and test its future vehicles.
Without leaving physical reality, engineers, designers and test pilots of the Blue Oval perform all sorts of simulations that allow them to imagine, design and analyze vehicles, but also new technologies and their use. This is the video that the manufacturer recently posted online, recalling that it has already turned to gamers to create a project called the P1 racing vehicle.
The team in charge of this project, Team Fordzilla P1 thus collaborated with a huge community of players. “Nearly a quarter of a million sports fans took online surveys to find out what the TeamFordzilla P1 concept looks like,” Ford said. Following the success of the P1 project, the Fordzilla team has already challenged its designers and gamers to imagine a new model: the SuperVision Vision Concept, its future utility vehicle, a high-performance version of the Transit.
