Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, ranks first with wealth
$215.1 billion. In January 2021, LVMH notably acquired jeweler Tiffany & Co. for $15.8 billion.
In 2nd place, we find Elon Musk with a net worth of 200.2 billion dollars. He is the CEO of electric car company Tesla, rocket company SpaceX and Twitter. He bought Twitter in October 2022 for $44 billion and owns about 74% of the company. Jeff Bezos is at the 3rd position with a net worth of $143.3 billion. Jeff Bezos will step down as CEO of e-commerce giant Amazon in July 2021, but will remain as its chairman.
Larry Ellison is ranked 4th with a net worth of $132.2 billion. He co-founded the software company Oracle in 1977 and led it as CEO until 2014. He is now Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer of the company.
Bill Gates took the 5th place with a wealth of 114 billion dollars. He notably entered the Forbes ranking in 1987. He was the richest man in the world from 1995 to 2017 (except for 2008 and 2010 to 2013).
Warren Buffett occupies the 6th position with a fortune of 111.9 billion dollars. In 2010, he created the Giving Pledge with Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates, asking billionaires to donate at least half of their wealth to charity.
Larry Page and Steve Baumer are 7th and 8th. Sergey Brin is in 9th place with a wealth of 99.1 billion dollars.
Finally, Mexican Carlos Slim Helu occupies the 10th place in the ranking with 95.7 billion dollars. He and his family control America Movil, the largest mobile telecommunications company in Latin America, with presence in at least 15 countries.
