“I sincerely hope that Jean Charest will be a candidate for the leadership race. [du PCC] And I want to support that, “said Gerard Deltell.

The Conservative MP for Louis-Saint-Laurent, Quebec, believes the former prime minister is the best man to defeat Justin Trudeau in the next election.

“I believe Jean-Charest is the man to mobilize the party, to win over Canada and our party and especially the country needs the same: an experienced leader,” he said in an interview with VAT News.

“His experience is much needed for our party, especially our country, more than ever.”

Jean-Charles has not yet officially announced that he will replace Erin O’Toole, but several sources say he is actively preparing to jump into the fray.

Last Tuesday, four MPs and a Tory senator released a statement calling for him to be nominated, saying he was appealing to his “sense of duty”.

If Gerard Deltel had been acquainted with Jean-Charles since the 1980s, he would not always have complimented him.

When he was head of the Action Democratic du Quebec in 2010, Mr. Deltel was furious with the Quebec Premier at the time.

“Jean Charest is a good godfather to the Liberal Party,” he said at the ADQ Convention.

“It simply came to our notice then that I had made a mistake in my career. And I apologize and apologize, ”he said today, highlighting his 2012 apology speech to the National Assembly.

“Anyone who has worked closely with Mr. Charrest will tell you that he can mobilize people and that he is a chef with extraordinary qualities. Opponents and I are living proof of that, ”he added.

Since he was elected a Member of Parliament in 2015, Gerard Deltel’s support has been honored in the Conservative Party leadership races.

If he supports Erin O’Toole in 2017, he will be neutral in the 2020 race.

For now, Pierre Polyvre remains the only candidate officially announced in this race. The Carleton member already has a lot of support in the Caucasus.

Political columnist Tasha Khiriddin is seriously considering running for office.

Patrick Brown, mayor of Brampton and former leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, was also contacted.

The race’s organizing committee will soon announce the rules, as well as when the Tories will elect Erin O’Toole’s successor, who was forced to resign on February 2.
