Coronavirus can quickly be detected by sneezing on the phone

This growth is nothing to sneeze at.

Coronavirus can be quickly detected by sneezing or coughing on a phone, using a portable sensor to deliver results within 60 seconds.

University of Utah engineering professor Massoud Tabeep-Azar leads a team of researchers to develop a foot-sized device that can be inserted into the phone’s charging board and tested for emission particles for viruses. Metro UK reports.

“If someone is breathing, coughing, sneezing, or blowing on the sensor, they can tell whether they have COVID-19,” Tabeep-Azhar told the store.

If the virus is present, the sensor has DNA fibers that bind to the viral proteins, which can trigger electrical resistance, indicating a positive result, ”said Thabib-Azhar.

“The sensor will change color or the COVID-19 will be visible, so this can be seen by the naked eye,” said Taeb-Azar.

Tabib-Azir said the gadget would be available in three months because he had already developed a prototype of the sensor a year ago to help detect mosquito-borne Zika virus.

“The plan is to identify the COVID-19 instead,” said Thafeb-Azir, who was awarded a $ 200,000 National Science Foundation rapid response grant to develop the new device. According to news station KTVX.

Tabib-Azir said the gadget could be made cheaper and would be a less invasive way to test the virus.

People are currently being tested for nasal cloths that collect mucus from the back of the nose and throat.

“I think it will help a lot to open up the country and give people peace of mind that they are in a safe environment,” he said News Station KSL-TV.
