Quebec Liberal Party leader Dominique Anglade and Quebec Solidaire parliamentary leader Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois want to be there. The leader of the Parti Québécois, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, also wants to go, but he could not yet confirm his presence on Sunday.

The event, which takes place the day after the Radio-Canada Leaders’ Debate, is organized by a coalition of labor, community and student unions. Workers for Justice spokesman Francois Geoffroy said at least 50,000 students and 10,000 workers had received strike orders to participate.

Organizers have called for a complete exit from fossil fuels by 2030 and heavy taxation to finance the transition to green energy. They expect the leaders participating in the parade to be strict in this regard.
